Our featured event: The Thomas Snow Trio at the Starbird Music Recital Hall

Thomas Snow

The Starbird Music Recital Hall was the site of a May 19th appearance by the Thomas Snow Trio sponsored by the Invisble Music label. This event also marked the return of drummer Phil Verrill to live performing, serving as yet another milestone in his progress on a spectacular recovery from a stroke less than six months ago. Also feautured on bass was Jim Lyden, a regular performer with the group.

During the generously long first set, the trio gave their audience a sampling from the jazz gamut that included traditional jazz ballads, straight-ahead swingers and fiery latin pieces (favorites to Tom and Phil!). Thomas then followed up with a few solo selections at the top of the second set, with the trio rejoining him to close out the show. Throughout the concert, the audience drummer Phil Verrill(which included many fellow musicians) enthusiastically expressed their appreciation not only for the ensemble's performance, but also for Phil Verrill's extraordinary return to the bandstand.
